Mademoiselle Editrix informs me that VINEART #1 will now be a late October release, not a mid-November one. This has pluses and minuses, but the pluses (moved away from the holiday rush, available in time for World Fantasy) overrides the major minus (OMG deadline is SOONER!). Betas? You are officially put on alert....
As mentioned in the previous post's comment thread, I did not watch the third debate, but instead was Out (I can haz sosal life? I can? Oh noes, dedlines. No can haz). The lesson I take away from the blogosphere, however, is that when one is a presidential candidate, one must never mug for the camera. Oh dear.
Spent this morning rearranging the office area for Pandora's comfort. As she ages into a Senior Cat, she becomes more and more determined to be within an inch of me at all times (as opposed to the five-inch zone she used to maintain). However, the current desk is not large enough for monitor, keyboard, manuscript, mug and feline. So the new configuration, while more distant than she might prefer, now allows her a comfy perch where she can keep an eye on me as I work. It also doesn't infringe on Boomer's usual spot, so hopefully they will be able to share the bench peaceably, and not make me threaten to pull this office over..... [yes, Life with Cats is often much like a six hour car ride with two gradeschoolers in the back seat]
In other news, I think it's time to stop sulking at the manuscript and start pummeling it again, especially since this weekend I have
a) freelance editorial [two, actually, but only one pays. I need to stop giving it away, man]
b) lunch with
neadods
c) Giants tickets! *does dance of glee* [yes, I too hope they perform better than they did on Monday night. Let us not speak of it again]
That's all I got. What's up with youse-all?
