Well, damn.
"Scheider died Sunday at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences hospital in Little Rock, hospital spokesman David Robinson said. He was 75. The hospital did not release a cause of death, but Scheider had been treated for multiple myeloma at the hospital's Myeloma Institute for Research and Therapy for the past two years." (from the AP wire)
I was always fond of him, not only because he had the kind of wry, intelligent delivery I so admire, and because he put his actions where his convictions were, but because we are both CHS alum, from back in New Jersey (although he was a few decades earlier than I).
*raises glass* Rest well, sir. No more illness, no more worries.
