The Writing Life: When Projects Collide

Some day, everything will be scheduled out perfectly, everything will arrive and go out like clockwork, and there will be no emergencies!.
And I'll suddenly be 5'8" and perfectly proportioned with it.
(hah)
Until then, the race is on to get as much of the hurry up and wait, then rush! revisions to GQ2 done as I can before the copyedit for CtD arrives for its pretty-much-overnight turnaround I just found out about. And oh yeah, need to proof the fictionwise files, and sort out financial paperworks, and get back to a client on a project update, etc etc.
Busy is better than not busy. But balance would be nice, no? My lunch date remarked yesterday that I looked exhausted. When someone who knows me says that, you know I'm tired.
And did I mention that we're about to get socked with another snowstorm? Looks like it will be an eastern storm, though (which means that we here in the western band will 'only' get another 5", while parts of Long Island get hit with more. While being totally snowed in has its appeal, the level of grousing we hear just isn't worth it. So yay for limited socked-inedness.)
*fires up the espresso machine again, adds a dash of cocoa to it, this time*
And, since the rest of my f-list seems to be doing it...
I guess I'm not a girly-girl.
*whew*
