L'shana tova, everyone!
Oct. 3rd, 2005 04:59 pmMay the new year dawn bright and sweet, and may the worst day of 5766 be better than the best day of 5765 for us all, personally and as a world's population.
Me, I spent the weekend run-away-from-home, off in a distant city doing on-site research for one book that turned out to also be research for another book, letting a hotel coddle me (and my cough-sniffle), and generally reconnecting with my inner sloth (who isn't actually all that slothful, but relative to my usual self I was positively indolent). Many thanks again to
agamisu, who suggested the trip in the first place, and made such a wonderful city-host/tour guide.
And now to type up all my notes, have my photos developed, and download and wade through all the e-mail that piled up while I was gone... (oh, and apologize some more to Pandora, who is Deeply Peeved that I went away without her again).
ETA: And why the hell is it that no matter what non-local city I end up in, by my second day someone will stop me and ask me for directions? And not always in English, either?
(three times, this weekend. Once I was able to help, the other two I just shrugged and did my best 'stranger here myself' routine.)
