I love what I do

I really do. I may hate the job itself on a semi-regular basis (welcome to corporate reality), but I love what I do.
Can you tell I just fiinished working on a manuscript? Sent the author huge gobs of revision notes. She got sloppy, she got careless, she got caught up in one aspect of the story and forgot about the others.
The manuscript came back a crisp, evenly balanced, well-integrated joy to read.
It's a running discussion in our household: job-as-paycheck or job-as-vocation. Guess which side I argue for? Seriously, we spend how many years of our lives in the office? I'd have to be paid shite-loads of money to waste that time doing something meaningless-to-me.
Mind you, in a perfect world I'd be paid shite-loads of money for doing what I love, but until y'all put STAYING DEAD on the bestseller list...
And on that note, I need to go home. I have revision notes of my own to work on.
