Friday: well, it took me four months, but we finally got to An Beal Bocht cafe for drinks and live music. Yep, exactly as advertised, and quite fun, and yay! I have a local pub! And one with good live music -- Susan Mckeown happened to be playing, and we determined that the acoustics of the place are such that you can sit in the far room, hear the music, and be able to carry on a conversation. Also, cute and friendly waitstaff. Always a plus.

Saturday: Street Fair! Monsoon! Vegan lunch that actually pleased me! (the world can end now, kthnxbai) Hunt-and-Kill shopping session (AKA Outfit LAG for The Research Trip)! Followed by the Fixing of the Bookcases (everyone who has seen the Great Lean will be relieved), followed by duck breast and red wine with [livejournal.com profile] 0eris0, [livejournal.com profile] kradical and [livejournal.com profile] terri_osborne. The recipe was good, but I need to fix the timing to make sure everything comes out at the same time. Also, want to tweak the sauce.

Sunday: Work! Gym! Work! Collapse! That's the plan, anyway. You know what often happens to plans...

Watching the footage of the Universal Studios fire, and a small plane flies into view -- either a news plane or a fire-control vehicle, tough to tell. Mainly because I had to get up and walk away.

I no longer flinch when planes fly low overhead. I don't feel my heart race when sirens sound too close, unexpectedly. I can even watch footage of disasters without more than the normal amount of they-are-me empathy (and likewise for movies in which NYC gets stomped on). But footage of planes flying into what I perceive as danger? So very very very no.

I suspect Therapist would say that this is normal and not to be worried about. Scars remain, and we function perfectly well around them. But it took me by surprise, as these things often do...

Still some updates and tweaks to be done in the next few days, but we're live...

And now I have come to the "collapse" part of the day's plan.
