in another forum the question came up -- why do we blog? So, nu. Fess up.

I spent much time today being upset because I wasn't getting enough done. On the advice of a dear friend, I wrote down everything I had gotten done -- not just on the writing front, but everything this week.

Oh. Okay. No, it's not as much as I feel I should have accomplished by Thursday. There are still a lot of things that need to be crossed off, and should have been crossed off, and need to be gotten to ASAP. But I am, as oft-admitted, the world's second-laziest workaholic, and the list of "Done" is decently respectable, including as it does office work, an overnight trip to NYC in whch many things were accomplished, and a healthy amount of sleep.

It's the sleep that screws me up. I love it so much, and resent the time it uses equally as much....

The Inside the Actor's Studio meme is going around again. I did it back in 9/06, and didn't think my answers would change that much...but they did. Personal evolution in action!

What is your favorite word? 'wow.'
What is your least favorite word? 'oversensitive'
What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally? intelligence-in-use.
What turns you off? complacency.
What is your favorite curse word? m*therf*cker.
What sound or noise do you love? thunder.
What sound or noise do you hate? sirens.
What profession other than your own would you like to attempt? photographer. or salsa dancer.
What profession would you not like to do? actor.
If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates? "you were right, that reviewer was an idiot." (okay, no, well, yes, but what I'd like to hear is: "stretching, growing, risking, learning, loving...yeah, you got everything done.")

and I leave you with this:

"The Yankees offered Manager Joe Torre a one-year deal with a base salary of $5 million and the chance to make another $3 million in performance bonuses. But after 12 years and 12 postseason appearances (including four World Series titles), Torre turned it down."

Good for Joe. It's not about the money, I suspect (he made 7.5 mil last year, part of a 3-year contract worth more than 12 mil) but the 'tude of management. He deserved better treatment than he's gotten the past week or so from Yankee management, and I think he's well within his right to tell them to take a long leap off a short pier.

If you don't respect yourself, personally or professional, how can anyone else?
