and I will be signing at Clayton Books, Clayton CA (slightly east of San Francisco, if I read my maps correctly) the afternoon of Saturday August 4th, if you happen to be in the area.
So.Anyone want to buy a NASFiC membership, pretty much dirt cheap? I also have a hotel reservation you can have....

In a world where we have Faux News, spinmeisters, plastic-faced teleprompt readers and newsblogging set for your specific flavor of politics, it's good to be reminded what being a newsman meant, once upon a time.
So much of the news clips they're showing, I remember watching. And it's wonderful to realize that Walter was as caught up in the wonder, the horror, the fascination of it all, too.
At his birth, Clio danced. At his death (may it be far hence), she will weep.
