I loves me my Jamaican Blue Mountain...
Oct. 9th, 2006 03:11 pmThe non-rush copy job? Is off an incoherent outline that really does, in varying words, use "and then a miracle occurs" to cover a plotline the author hasn't quite figured out yet. Wheeee. Lord knows there's plot to work with here, though. And then some. I'll be interested to see if the author really does do what's planned, or if things take a left turn at the train wreck.
On the plus side, the blisters on my finger (the results of the weekend's ER run, for those of you paying attention in the last post) seem to be healing well, with no sign of infection or further swelling. Fortunately, I am discovering that I don't use my pinkies when I type, so keeping it still is less of a problem than feared. And yes, I do tilt my pinkies up when I drink, and no, I don't know why.
Also, I got sideswiped by a story last night. Showed bits of it to people and got various snerking nosies in return. hee. Had futher realization this morning that only one of the characters in the story is going to get a Name. What this implies about the type of story, and how I'm going to have to tell it, is innnnneresting, oh yes. As is the fact of who gets the Name, and why, and the potential of the reader to make inferences off that.... oh boy.
Sometimes the story lays down and lets you have your way with it. Sometimes, you're its bitch. Guess which one this is gonna be?
*pours another cup and goes back to it*
