well, we seem to have dodged the tornados, but the thunder, lightning, and torrential downpours have returned. Boomer, who is a wimp, is making 'mommy-save-me' expressions. Pandora is mocking him, ,but she's also staying close to mommatwolegs.

Wow. even I, stormbunny that I am, am looking out the window going 'errrrr, that was close, was it not?' And I just went to battery-only. JiC. But I can feel my body just all-over feeling better, for the storm.

But it needs to go away soon. Enough is enough and then it becomes Too Much.

Oh, and best non-movie line of the evening goes to the guy sitting in front of us:

"My body IS a temple. It just has a lousy maintenance crew."

Took the afternoon to go with [profile] kradical and [personal profile] girasole to the Yale Center for British Art to see both the "Finding Shakespeare" exhibit (very interesting if small collection of portraits, objects, and Stuff) and "Britannia & Muscovy: English Silver at the Court of the Tsar" which made my outer magpie make graby hands at the sealed, alarm'd cases. PrettyShiny!

And thence to the real point of the pilgramage: The Group W Bench, which [personal profile] girasole remembered as being a craftsy, political-themeed head shop Back in the Day. And yep, it still is. But the stinnk of patchouli was bearable, and good findings were found (Including a lovely bumper sticker of "Partnership for an Idiot-Free America" which I ended up not buying, because Darcy doesn't DO bumper stickers.)

And now, having spent the afternoon with matters social, educational and whimsical, I must get my ass back to the project at hand, so I can continue leading this life of (hah!) freelance leisure...

We used to joke that all that was needed to make Middle Eastern tensions die down was for my sister Amy to go on one of her semi-annual trips to Israel. Every single time she was over there, they all behaved for the duration of her trip (why yes, she does teach grade school, how did you guess?)

Alas, I don't think even her magic can cool things off right now...

*sighs*

And I really need to resize this icon so that it's readable, somehow, because it so perfectly sums up how I'm feeling right now.
