another year, another seder...
Apr. 23rd, 2005 09:34 pmA nice seder, a good seder. We went though the entire order, which proves that we're all grown ups now, even the kids. Fabulous food, as always. Good wines. Incredible desserts. Fantabulous stories (including my folks retelling what their parents and grandparents did for seders when they were gowing up, which was fascinating).
This one, though, was special. For as long as I can remember, when my sister has hosted the seder (some twenty years now) her friends Sam and Christie have attended. I remember changing their daughter Sarah's diaper years and years before, during one.
Christie was diagnosed with cancer last year.
She's with us this year. Using a walker (from an infection after chemo), but she's with us. Sarey has been accepted to Skidmore, my alma mater, and Christie will be there with Sam to take her to her dorm.
Next year in Jerusalem, hell. This year, in life.
