And lo, the snow begins. Falling thick, fast, and pretty. Now that I'm not driving through it, anyway.

Hope everyone's home, warm, safe and with the comfort food of your choice close at hand...

Update: Well, we're officially into a State of Emergency (well, starting tonight). Which means a) everyone off the road, damn it! and b) we're eligible for any federal funds to help with the cleanup.

Wheee!

And it's cold. Have I said that recently?

current winner: "Please, folk, don't dumb and drive." (once we go under a state of emergency, at 8pm, nobody's allowed on the roads unless it's an emergency)

runner-up: "If you have heat, power, and running water, please don't bother us right now." (speaking of the emergency lines, which are already being overloaded)

6" on the ground already, and we're supposed to get the really heavy stuff falling after midnight, for totals of 12-18" in this area, and up to 24" further north and east. And possible thundersnow. Cool! Not that I'll see/hear any of it here, but just the thought is cool.

Have opened a bottle of wine, and the smell of Things Cooking is filling the air. A good night to be home, warm, with work to do and friends on speed dial and IM...
