So, went to see Master and Commander this weekend. Man, what a pretty movie. And yes, I'm talking about more than the actors! Some folk have said that they found themselves emotionally detached from the characters, despite the engaging action. hrm. The movie itself had the feel of a period book, in many ways; sort of diffident in its approach, compared to more modern movie styles which tend to be more.. well, friendly. So I think a lot depends on how easily you're willing to let Stephen and Jack into your inner circle. There's no opportunity to ease yourself into it: you're either there or you're not.

I gave in immediately, and that only had a little bit to do with how much I wanted to take Stephen home with me... *grin*

In other news, finished off a sample chapter for an editor who will ask me to revise it seven ways from Sunday, so it was difficult to really get into the writing of it. Once we're on the same page, the rest of the book will be much easier. I hope. Oh, and finally figured out how to get my new webring link up and running. Razzenfrazzen Netscape Composer...

Oh, and raking. Lots and lots of raking. But we're ready for the snow now.

*sits back and waits impatiently for snow*
