*sigh* Had long post typed up, and server went and lost it. Another reason to wince.

In addition to having the worst sinus headache known to mankind, and a manuscript that needs a line-edit before it goes into production, and they need it _today_. And we have a 90 minute meeting scheduled for this afternoon.

I am meerkat. Hear me whine.

And then there are the death-wish idiots who are going to get bitch-slapped soon for starting up the chant of "choke, choke" regarding my grandfather's beloved Sox. Yesterday's game was a loss, yeah, but hardly a 'choke.'

Then again, what do you expect from a certain type of Yankee fan? Having cause for arrogance is the best reason NOT to be arrogant, and not just because the gods love a good pratfall.

And speaking of bitch-slapping, I had to explain the term to someone this weekend. I was astonished. I thought it was one of thiose universally-understood terms.

Apparently, not for Canadians. Who knew?

Of course, it could be worse. We could all be Cubs fans. *wince wince wince*

Blurbage!

Just got my very first ever blurb. I am in high alt.

"What's a girl to do now that Buffy's been cancelled? Read Laura Anne
Gilman, of course! The chemistry between Wren and Sergei sparkles, the
badinage sparks: if Nick and Nora Charles were investigating X-Files, the
result would be STAYING DEAD. These Retrievers are golden."
-- Rosemary Edgehill, author of MET BY MOONLIGHT

She also said "I read it over the weekend in one gulp, and absolutely loved it! More, more, more!" So I guess it didn't suck, huh? (Yeah, I know, Tina. I know. But I need to hear it a couple dozen-hundred times before it starts to feel real-true)
